Having another child has helped me realize what I truly need to pack in my diaper bag, and what I could live without. Below is a list of diaper bag essentials that ensures you won’t be packing your entire house because let’s be honest, we all tend to overpack!
* You may need to pack some additional items, depending on you and your child’s specific needs.
For baby:
- Wipes
- Diapers
- Diaper cream
- Changing pad
- Extra clothes
- Breast milk/Formula & bottles
- Snacks or food (if your baby is already eating solids)
- Pacifier
- Bibs/burp cloths
- Blanket
- Wet/Dry bag
- Hand sanitizer (there are alcohol-free ones safe for your baby)
- Sunscreen/bug spray
- Diaper trash bags (in case the baby poops, but there is no garbage around at the time)
For a toddler (if applicable):
- Extra clothes
- Water bottle/snacks
- Diapers/Pull-ups or toilet seat covers (if potty trained)
For mommy:
- Nursing cover/breast pads (if you breastfeed)
